The internet connection which you used is that PPPOE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet) then very easily you can activate your internet connection in your Ubuntu operating system.
Generally in XP or 7 operating system the service provider does this work. But if you give windows set up or if you want to use open sources operating system like Ubuntu then you by yourself can do this.
For this purposes firstly go to: Applications > Accessories > Terminal > now write- sudu pppoeconf > Enter
Give your root password. Then all available Ethernet connections will be displayed. Press Enter. All connections will be tested now and the active connection will be marked out.
A dialogue box name POPULAR OPTIONS will be displayed. Enter on that and put your user name and password (which you have gotten from your Internet Service Provider). Now press enter on USE PEER DNS and LIMITED MSS PROBLEM. Finally if you do the entire job perfectly then your internet connection will be activated.
